Do I need to replace head in my 2004 PT Cruiser - Turbo

Asked by Guru9TY6 Mar 19, 2017 at 03:36 PM about the 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser GT Wagon FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just had the lower part of my engine rebuilt.  Car ran pretty good when returned.  A couple of weeks later it began missing terrible. We changed plugs, fuel injector and today I was told the compression in 3rd cyl is low so I am being told that the head needs to be replaced. Is this true or am I being duped?

most likely yeah. but there is a sure fire way of telling if the head is bad, first pull the oil dip stick and check your oil color, green means coolant, brown means gas, and black is normal, also check the coolant radiator and see what color it is. if its anything but green or (sometimes red) drain some of it and look for oil or little white dots and if those are fine take loose the first spark plug and check the compression yourself (or someone you trust) and get back to me with some details :D i will be happy to help
