Jerking and stalling

Asked by Andrew Apr 21, 2018 at 09:17 PM about the 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Upon accelerating the car starts jerking and
bucking like it's starving for gasoline.  I replaced
the Camshaft and Crankshaft position sensor
position sensors, temperature control switch,
radiator and dual fan, temperature gauge switch,
gas cap. Mechanic said it's reading as a misfire on
2nd Crankshaft position sensor... I have no clue,
but I don't know if he is pulling my chain or not
about the car having 2 crankshaft position
sensors. Or am I wrong?

It does have two and both have to be replaced together. When one fails the second is very likely to fail too.

Where are the sensors located on the vehicle. I know the Camshaft position sensor is under the air cleaner and the crankshaft position sensor is above the starter. Where is the other Crankshaft position sensor located?
