Shutdown relay

I need to know if you auto shutdown relay in a
2000 Dodge Grand Caravan is my problem van was
running fine nothing nothing no mishaps no
nothing then all of the sudden I needed a jump in
the morning two hours later when I went to drive
the van I drove about 15-20 minutes and it started
jerking like a transmission problem kind of
throwing itself and shut down all the lights went
haywire and just shut down it wouldn't go out of
gear the steering column wouldn't shift gears to
put it in park or nothing for a while got it started
again after it set for a minute two minutes later I
started driving the same thing and shut down after
I turn the key off and took it out of the shutdown
relay still ticking is that my problem

The check engine light is probably on. Have the vehicle scanned for any trouble codes. This will let you know where to look for the problem. Write down the trouble codes in case you need further assistance.
