I have a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. Today, I decided to remove the stereo and install a new one. The old stereo was not the factory installed version, but an older Blaupunkt model installed by the previous owner. All I did was remove the stereo from the dash, unplug the harness and antennae & remove the wires from the harness. Now, several things have stopped working simultaneously: The key fob will no longer lock/unlock the doors; the instrument panel lights do not work at all; all internal lights will only turn on when the ignition is on & the open door chime does not sound. There may be more that I have yet to discover. I have checked all of the fuses in both locations - under the dash and beneath the hood. They all appear fine. Any ideas? How are all of these things related?

Did you remove the battery cable when you removed the radio??? if so you may have lost some of the memory in the ECM (Main Computer) and it will need to be reflashed..

Thank you. No. I did not remove the battery cable. I had no idea that something so simple could mess up the ECM. How do you go about getting the ECM reflashed?

Same thing happened to me. No radio, no dome lights, no door locks unless the van is running. HELP!
