Coolant tank

Asked by Jeremy Jan 31, 2019 at 07:31 AM about the 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Should coolant br spilling onto the ground from the
reservoir tank when full? Shouldn't it circulate back into the
radiator?  Is there possibly a hose not connected?

The radiator cap controls how the coolant gets back in the system. When it is hot, the cap allows coolant to escape the cooling system into the tank. It should also allow the coolant to be pulled back into the system from the tank when the engine cools off. If you are having issues with the coolant not returning into the system, test or replace the Radiator cap and make sure the hoses from the tank to the radiator are good (no leaks).
