Diagram for Dodge Pickup Fuel System

Asked by Michelle Jan 24, 2018 at 01:57 PM about the 1990 Dodge RAM 150 LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1990 Dodge Power Ram truck with the 318 engine that will crank
only when gas is poured directly into the carb.  It only runs for a second
before dying and even shot fire out a couple of times (think the guy pouring
the gas did too much). I have searched high and low for a diagram of the fuel
delivery system and have found null.

It says "Power Ram" on it as far as the label so I'm unsure if I picked the
correct trim in the related car section.  It is 4WD standard cab with the 318
engine. Throttle body.

Anyone have one?

Check to see if the fuel pump works and change the fuel filter. Your fuel pump should be electric and it would be in the gas tank. When you turn the key on you should here the pump hum for a bit. If not then check the fuse but the pump may need replacing.

My 1990 did the same thing. Replaced everything but the Hall effect sensor. $13.00 BW part. changed it and set timing. works fine 3 yrs later. The distributor is in a spot where it gets moisture in a heavy rain. the sensor was corroded. Hope this helps.
