Car wont start

My car turns over but wont start my son
said it sounds like its nit getting gas

Remove connection between carburetor and fuel line, place the end in a jam jar and turn engine over for 3 seconds, if its getting there its the floats if it isnt its before on that line somewhere, and I agree with the comment that the filter could be blocked
