DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY ISSUES WITH THE 91 MODEL 4X4 EDDIE BAUR EXPLORER? I JUST BOUGHT IT A FEW DAYS AGO AND AM HAVING ISSUES WITH IT.

What kind of issues are you having with it?? I have a '92 Eddie Bauer 4X4 in addition to a 2002, and I refuse to give up the '92, which has 215,000 miles on it. It survived my daughter borrowing it (who has had 5 cars in the four years she's been driving), and I would drive it across the country in a heartbeat. IT WILL NOT DIE and everything still works on it.

ford didnt make an eddie bauer until after '93.

Sorry, Nathan, but unless it's a mid-year, I've got a '92 Eddie Bauer, with Eddie Bauer engraved into the upholstery and other places.

My 2012 Ford Explorer gives me the message "shift to park" when I turn off the car. The car is fully in park. I have to push the button on the gear shift and jiggle the gear shift for it to finally acknowledge it's in park (by sliding the seat back and the message goes away). Sometimes I have to shift it to drive and back again, before jiggling to get it into park. Any suggestions to what i need to do to fix this problem 35 Answers

OK i'm stumped. I have a 2001 ford explorer(please keep comments about fords to yourself ). I've had 4 episodes where i was driving along with no issues and the even though i am excellerating the car stops running and the stalls out. Once i pull it to the side of the road and try to start it it back fires and qcts like it it out of gas but if you wait 30 plus minutes it will start and run for a bit longer then repeats itself a couple more times but then it will runs for days until it does it again. The check engine light is not on but the check gas cap is on. we replaced the gas cap and it is still on. The first time this happened I had it towed and the mechanic tightened the serpentine belt and fixed the manifold gasket. Does anyone have any ideas???? 14 Answers
