I could be wrong, but it sounds like you know what to do. You are correct, the key code is on the passenger door lock cylinder. Open up the passenger door, remove the cylinder, take it to a genuine locksmith (not Walmart / Lowes) and make sure to let them know it is an imported Kia. These were literally built there in Korea and then shipped here. Please keep in touch, ask other questions or make updates. Kind regards,
