I have a 1998 dodge b1500 ram van I need to replace the heater core how can I do this

Thanks to Dodge Engineers, this is a job from hell. They must have gotten their certification from Cracker Jack Box. A lot of stuff needs to be removed before you can get the Heater-A/C housing out of the vehicle. This is about a 6 hour job. If you don't have the patience, let the dealer do it; it's over $1000. Drain the cooling system. Evacuate the A/C System. Remove the A/C lines that hinder the radiator removal. Remove the window washer jug. Remove the coolant recovery jug. Remove the transmission lines from the radiator. Remove the lower radiator hose. Remove the upper radiator hose. Remove the radiator. Remove the front grille. Remove the passenger headlight. Remove the passenger parking/turn light. Remove the trim piece just below the passenger parking/turn light. Remove the passenger headlight housing. Remove the passenger side radiator support. Fly the transmission cooler in mid-air supported only by the right side radiator support. Loosen the vertical support rods that attach to the upper radiator support, both upper and lower. Loosen the hood latch. Remove the upper radiator support. Remove the heater hoses from the heater core. Remove the nuts holding the Heater-A/C housing to the firewall (inside). Use a long 1/4" extension. Use a screw driver and pop the control arm linkage from the servo to the blend door (inside). It plugs into the plastic servo arm. Remove the two screws that hold the Heater-A/C housing to the blower housing. Unplug the wiring going into the Heater-A/C housing. Remove the Heater-A/C Housing Remove the Heater-A/C housing top cover. Do not remove the blend door control arm linkage. Remove the heater core. Slip the new one in. When you replace the housing, you are going to have to orientate the blend door control arm linkage to get it back through that elongated hole in the firewall. Have patience and use care. Get some plastic cups and identify the hardware with pieces of paper, keeping it all separate. Don't try to memorize where the hardware goes otherwise you are going to have a lot of parts left over. As long a you've got this all apart, you might as well remove the alternator and replace the heater hose coming up out of the manifold. The heater hose fitting at the manifold is long... I used two clamps. Car manufacturers are deliberately burying simple repairs behind the removal of all these parts to boost the repair bill and to keep it out of the hands of the DIY's. Bastards!
