Dodge ram cargo van 2500 squealing belt

Asked by RAF Mar 03, 2010 at 05:03 PM about the 1999 Dodge RAM Van 2500 Maxi Extended Cargo RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The fan belt in my 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 Cargo van squeals when I turn the heater fan on. I tried disconnecting the ac clutch by pulling the wires apart to stop the clutch engaging but it still squeals when the heater fan is on. It only happens when the heater fan is turned on?

Buy a new belt if the old one is worn and set the correct tension on it. This should eliminate any squealing.
