Engine Control Unit

Asked by GuruCF7YY Mar 09, 2019 at 08:59 AM about the 2004 Dodge Sprinter Cargo 2500 High Roof 140 WB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 25amp engine control unit fuse blew while
driving and the engine stopped running.  Replaced
fuse with new fuse and it blew again.  What can I
do to find out why keeps blowing?

Unfortunately, electrical trouble can be difficult to locate. I would locate the ECU and inspect it. Unplug the unit and see if the fuse still blows. Also inspect the wiring and look for burnt or melted wires. The fuse is blowing because there is a short somewhere, either the wiring or the ECU unit.
