Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2004 Envoy XL and it idles rough when in Drive. No other problems other than the rough idle. I took it to a mechanic and he noticed what I was talking about but couldnt find anything wrong with it. Any suggestions?

no check engine light, or anything, will it smooth out depending temperature, at what rpm will it get normal? which engine?
No engine light or codes. When it first started (last winter) it would go away when the the engine was warmed, but now it does it pretty much all the time. It has gotten rougher during this time as well. It only does it when Im at a complete stop in drive. I would say when the engine is warm, its not as bad. When I take off, I dont seem to feel it anymore. I have the 6 cyl engine in it.
I am now having the exact same thing happening with my 05 envoy. It started when my car was cold but then would go away when the car warmed. Now does it all the time when I am stopped at a stoplight. Did you ever get an answer to your problem?
I never got an answer but figured it out anyway. I turned out to be the motor mounts. I have a friend that has an Envoy and it did the same thing. Must be a problem throughout the line.
Thank you for getting back to me. Now that I know I can have my husband get on it.
Motor mounts for sure,if its worse in drive than rev, then its the passenger side, and vice versa

When I drive , and I'm going 60 it seems like I'm only going 20,40 . Is this the motor mount as well has idling issue as well .

On the driver's side there is a senser that screws into the side of the intake it has a plug in that has 2 wires connected,it will be on the driver's side up toward the front of the motor, its right below the altenator, my truck was running rough till I changed that and it fixed it.I got one at junk yard for 10 bucks.
What is the sensor name please
