2004 GMC Envoy noise

2004 GMC Envoy has a metal on metal rubbing sound when accelerating. The engine  revs  high in first and goes away once it goes in second. The onboard computer is giving a speed sensor fault.

That would be a bad wheel bearing. Need to get that fixed as soon as you can.

The wheel bearing has failed so it is generating heat that has damaged the wheel speed sensor that is attached to the wheel bearing hub assembly. Replacing the bad wheel bearing hub assembly will take care of the problem. One thing is that it is recommended to replace both front wheel hub assemblies at the same time. The problem is in the front, right or left side.
