Fuel tank replaced

Truck 1990 gmc k1500 sierra.truck was
running fine.getting truck painted so i
replaced fuel tank and pump. Pump was
sounding really loud..run good but just
shuts down.no error code..starts back up
for a few miles then when stopped at red
light shuts off.

May need to rebuild the fuel regulator in the TBI. They make kits to do that.

Thanks for you response. .i will put it on my list..just to mention the new fule pump was really loud never heard a pump that loud do you think it could be a defect..thanks again...

Was it under gas? Always keep it under gas, no less than a 1/4 tank of gas. The gas keeps it from burning out and dampens the sound...keeps it cool. So no I wouldn't know if it is defective. Maybe check the fuel pressure with it.
