The best way to select a cam is to know all of the information about your truck such as compression ratio, and other engine specs, transmission, rear end gear ratio, etc. Also know what modifications have been made to the vehicle, and your intended use, such as street and strip, towing, etc. Then select a cam manufacturer, such as Competition Cams, Crane Cams, etc. Call their tech line (should be on the Internet, and get their recommendations, including any other recommended parts such as valve springs, pushrods, etc. to complete the installation. On a heavy vehicle like your truck, you will need a cam that helps make a lot of bottom end and mid range torque. If you want a huge increase in power, most people will say to get a big block. But a 350 is a great engine. I've had a few of them myself.

call Summit- they have operators standing by to take your call! (disclaimer: Jamnblues is not employed or affiliated in any way with Summit speed parts and is certainly not getting kickbacks for his recommendations but he wishes he was)
