My 1992 gmc 1500 will crank. It will run for about 10 minutes or so and then dies. Will not restart right then but if I wait a couple hours it will crank again. What is causing this

Multiple issues could be causing this. The weakest point on my '92 was the ignition module (ICM) in the distributor. She's on #5 with one new pick-up coil. That is were I would start. Simple check. Run the truck. After it dies pull the air cleaner. Get a friend to watch the injectors. If they are not spraying it's a 98% chance that it's the ICM and/or the pick-up. If the spray is weak it could be the ICM or a fuel issue. Pumps are better in these ones over the Vortec I check the fuel filter first and then the regulator in the back of the throttle body.

Oh forgot. If you change the ICM use the supplied grease or get your own Di-electric grease. It must be able to disipate heat to the distributor plate or it will fail.

ok here a problem I had I was driving to work and everything was fine .when I got off the interstate as soon as my motor dropped to 1500 rpm it just shut off so I had a friend come tow me to my shop where I looked at everything.and it all seemed ok good fuel pressure good filter spark at the coil but no spark at the plug .but yet when I put fuel in the throttle body it fired wright up and as long as I kept it above 1600 rpm it ran .when I let it idle it just shut wright off and would not fire it would crank but not fire so I did someone looking and what I found was the distributor had stopped. working even though the test at napa said it was good it was not bought a new distributer put it in and awesome it fired wright up and everything is good .what i did was have a friend turn on the ignition while I was watching the injectors when I saw there was no fuel I knew the distributor was bad don't bother replacing the module. replace the distributor 99.00 bucks at auto zone lifetime warranty.so there you have it

I have a 1992 Chevy GMC Yukon SLE it has a brand new distributor in there but the person I bought the vehicle from did not have it tighten all the way down so now determined seem like its off wood could be the problem I change the fuel pump the coil and the fuel relay so I really need some help on this one

I have another question my fuel injectors like when we start the car is getting gas but the injectors is not shooting it down into the travel buddy so how could you tell if those injectors are bad
