Does a 1993 gmc sierra have an ECU and if so
could I replace it with a preformance ECU for better
hp?

Or if its possible just put a chip in the one it has but im thinking its to old for that?

It does have an ECU and they do make various aftermarket performance chips but you'll have to determine which if any works for your vehicle. Check any of the speed part catalogs, like Summit, Jegs, etc.
