transmission not shifting correctly

Asked by JWK42 Apr 01, 2017 at 07:11 PM about the 1994 GMC Sierra 1500 C1500 SL Extended Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1994 GMC Sierra 1500 and after I put it into drive it will not shift up the
gears like it should. I have to shift it like standard. I run it up to 2000 rpm let off
gas and it will shift to the next gear but will not shift anymore.

If there is a lot of miles on this, it may just be worn out. Otherwise it could be with the shift solenoids. Should just go to a transmission shop for proper diagnosis.
