1990 Ford Ranger truck won't go over 45 mph after changing distributor cap and router cap

Hi guys.   I just changed
the distributor cap and
router cap on my truck
and now my truck has no
top end power.  It won't
drive faster than 45mph it
idols fine and sounds
good when not in gear.
But has no power 1990
Ford Ranger 2.9 V6

If you did not miss by one tooth when you installed the distributor.. the vacuum advance and lines should be checked out. I would turn it one tooth and try again. If that fails go the other way.
