Why does my 1994 gmc seirra bog

Asked by Joel1996 Apr 09, 2015 at 12:17 PM about the 1994 GMC Sierra 1500 C1500 SLE Standard Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have been driving the truck with no
worries. My truck bogs when it takes
off. I lightly tap on the gas and it
sputters and acts like it wars to stall
but IT doesnt. Only when I'm taking
off from stop or changing from
directions.

If no check engine light, I would start by removing the throttle body and give it a thorough cleaning. Remove the IAC and clean that as well. Here's a video on the location of the IAC, if you don't already know. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JSxqnkRYRU Remove a couple of spark plugs and see if they are all black and fouled. You may be running rich. Here's a video on trouble shooting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDbRw-xEtyI

Idle Air Control Valve. The guy in the video points it out very early in the video. He probably said Idle Air Control Valve instead of IAC. Sorry for the confusion.
