I have a 1994 GMC sierra c1500 with the 5.7l All of a sudden now when I start it up it idles
but once I go to step on the brake to put it in gear it imedietly dies on me. I thought it was
fuel pump but I changed pump and fuel lines and it still doing the same thing also if I just
let it sit and idle it will dies within a minute or so but like I said it dies as soon as I touch
the brake also

Sounds like your torque converter is bad. Generally when you put a vehicle in gear and it dies, it's a bad torque clutch solenoid. Is it actually dying as soon as you hit the brake, or is it when you hit the brake and shift it into gear? Does it also die if you just start it and let it idle for a while?
Thank you but Yes I can get it into gear but dies immediately. Also if I just let it idle in park it will die in a minute or so. But will start right up
Dose your truck have a engen computer it would be called an ecm that will cause that problem
Okay, your idle and die issue may be a couple of things. Remove your throttle body and spray it down with throttle body cleaner and remove your IAC and tear it down and clean it also. Remove your MAF and clean that with a can of MAF cleaner. Don't use throttle body cleaner. Just to be safe, I would change out my Engine Coolant Temp sensor also. See if your truck will at least idle and not die after doing that. It may just solve your putting it in gear and die issue as well. Post back with results.
Do you know where the torque converter control solenoid is located on this vehicle? In side trany pan?
I don't think it's a job you will want to tackle yourself. Here's a link that kind of explains it. http://autorepair.about.com/cs/doityourself/l/aa011703b.htm
I don't think the older models like you have, have a MAF. Mass Air Flow sensor. Here's a video on things to check and or replace. Pretty good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDbRw-xEtyI
Sorry guys it took so long to respond and thank you for all the help sad to say it ended up being the fuel pump the first one I put in must of been bad so I took the chance on replacing it and now is running great!
