Im sure you can put a 5.7 v-8 in as well. The 4.3 is in s10's too so getting an engine shouldn't be a problem. Automatic transmission would match up with v-8 as well but the fuel lines may need to be changed. I'm not 100% sure but I think you could get a 2000 model or newer s-10 motor. Is Ur truck automatic or 5spd? I think those are full injected and don't have a carb? If its fuel injected then you can get a used newer motor from s-10 or 4.3 silverado. Either way you can buy a new crate motor for it or get a uses one!

If you have emissions where you live then replace it with the same kind of 4.3 it had. If you dont then you can use what ever small block chevy you want. With a different motor you will need its computer and wireing harness too
