By a rolling chassis or a whole truck with the drivetrain you are looking for that would be the one to start with

The frame is different due to the front suspension so like the first guy said buy a rolling chassis or a different truck

4X4 add-on parts or a 1995 GM 4X4 doner truck & or chassis will be so expensive (but possible) with an unlimited budget. You will need everything, shifters & linkage, transfere case, dirvelines, matching front differential, springs & mounts, shocks, brakes, etc. etc. etc. Better to sell yours & buy what you want,

Tarver001 this is old thread but what did you end up doing? I bought two trucks cheap one is 96 extended cab short box 2x4 other is single cab short box 4x4. I bought cheap planning to make the extended cab a 4x4 for my personal truck turn single cab into 2x4 and sell it. Someone here said 2x4 frame different than 4x4 is that true? Looked like easy deal but then I read this thread. Advise appreciated.
