Look in your owner's manual in the "Specifications" section. The transmission model may be listed there. Locate the vehicle identification number of your vehicle if the information was not in the owner's manual. You can find this information on your vehicle registration, on the data tag on the driver's door or door post, and on the ID tag on the driver's side of the dash. This tag is visible when you look through the windshield at the lower-left corner of the dash. Call the local dealer for your make of car. Ask for the parts department, give the clerk the vehicle identification number, or VIN, of your vehicle and ask him or her what transmission is in your vehicle. Armed with your VIN, he or she will be able to give you the exact model of your transmission.
