What type of freon does my 97 GMC Sierra 1500 truck need?

What would happen if I put 134 Freon in it. There is noting on the truck to say what kind of Freon it uses. What is retrofitted for regular Freon and what does a retrofit look like? There are 2 ports one with a larger hole on a top fitting and one which fits the hose for the 143 Freon I bought.

After 1993 vehicles used R134 so your 1997 has R134 in it.
