How can I tell what automatic transmission my GMC Sierra Ext. Cab 1500 5.0L Vortec has in it?

I need to know the transmission model in my GMC Sierra Extended Cab 1500
long bed 5.0L Vortec has in it so I know the filter and fluid capacity to change
it.

Punch in your VIN: http://chevroletforum.com/forum/vindecoder.php , scroll to "TECH SPECS" and look up pertinent info.

This didn't tell me how to find out what transmission is in my truck. It just gave the different options available.

If its the automatic, its most likely the 4L60E because my 98 with the 5.0 has that in it.
