1998 gmc serria no start

My 1998 gmc serria 5.7 turns over but wont start. typically after it sits for a few
hours it will start then randomly it may be a week or more and it just wont start.
mech say it needs to be not working to test it. when i get it towed in to the shop
it starts up

thanks for the time. do you mean like the fuel pump relay or filter? I replaced the fuel pump, filter and starter a short time a go then it still would randomly turn over but not start. replaced the crank sensor and distributor.... maybe the fuel pump went bad again? any additional thoughts.?

shot in the dark , put a hose on the schrader valve and purge the fuel rail next time it doesn't start see if that helps , if so replace the fuel pressure regulator , don't start any fires
