Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I'm having to put 2/3 quarts of oil in my truck every
15-20days. When I start it up I notice white smoke
but it quickly goes away. I'm currently putting
synthetic 20/50.

Do a compression test to determine if piston rings are bad. It will do what you are describing when the valve stem seals are bad and you can just repair the heads.
Compression test and leakdown test, leakdown is geared towards determining excessive blow-by on rings. If the engine has a lot of miles on it just keep the oil topped off, might not make the power it used to and might crop dust the other motorists on the highway behind you, but oh well. Additives will only get you so far, if it really gets bad it'll need a tear down and at least new gaskets/rings.
Thanks for the valuable information it was very informative. Thanks again!
Yes, My power is very minimal. It gradually gets up to speed. It don't knock nor squeak it just have any v8 power I know it should. I'm considering getting a less mileage engine and a new block.
