Can I V6 to V8

I have a 98 GMC Sierra short bed short cab flareside with a
V6 Vortec 5 speed manual transmission can I put a bigger
motor and will it mount to this unknow to me transmission?

You can put a bigger motor in that truck as long as it's the same kind of motor from a six to a V8 it all should bolt together but you might have to change the cluch and flywheel but every thing should bolt up together I have changed motors and transmission and it all worked out nice !

How do I find out if the block mounts up to the transmission and do you know what kind of transmission it is?
