Battery light comes on driving down the road.

Asked by ra2731ra Aug 18, 2014 at 02:49 PM about the 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Battery light comes on driving down the road including brake warning light and ABS light. Had alternator (new last year) and battery (new this year) checked with now issues on either. Not sure if there is a short. Possible cruise control short but not sure.

Your battery light and abs light comes on because it is low on voltage. I was out one day and the light came on and I was right near an auto parts store. They tested it and said everything was fine. My husband came home and took off the alternator and ran it back to his shop and the alternator was bad! I have no faith in auto parts store employees or testers.
