Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My '02 GMC Sierra 4.2 v6 5 speed was
running rough. Checked the distributor cap n
rotor n found it corroded. Replaced them
and it ran fine for a while, one year later
same problem. But this time after changing
cap n rotor, it will not start at all. I checked
the spark and it's good. Starting fluid does
not help. Truck has very high milesand sits
alot, but I'd like to limp through one more
winter. My machanic said he thinks it's
electrical but not sure. Any help?

are the injectors firing ? Other things can go bad at the same time by pure coincidence , hopefully your "mechanic " will test things before replacing parts and spending your money needlessly

Thanks for the help. I think it's a fuel problem cause I checked for spark with a spark tester and got good spark from all six, course that doesn't guarantee the timing is right. I'd like to check the injectors but I'm not sure how.
