Overdrive keeps kicking in.

Asked by Jonathon Apr 25, 2017 at 06:18 PM about the 2004 GMC Sierra 1500 4 Dr SLE 4WD Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My overdrive keeps kicking in. What is causing it to
Rev up whether I'm in cruise or just using the
acclerator.  It sounds like it is just reving up in
nuetral and then it goes back to normal. No loud
sounds no bumps or bangs real smooth.

Older GMC trucks will kick in and out of OD when low on trans fluid. Or filter is clogging.
