car wont start

I have a 2005 audi s4 v8 4.2 it wont start it cranks
like it wants to yet i tried to jump it an thebattery
isnt holding a charge what can i start checking to
narrow down what could be the problem

well considering you jsut said the battery can't hold a charge try replacing that Most peoople don't relize a battery is only good for like 5 -10 years and 5 if your lucky 10 if your really lucky

your problem lies in the ignition switch which is a major problem in all the 80 ,100 200 Se and SEL models. the fastest solution is to connect a common push switch directly to your starter solenoid, switch on the ignition and push the start button. it works even if your battery is down to 9 volts.. good luck. hennie
