Audi A4 1.8t compression

Asked by Gaskill03 Apr 16, 2019 at 02:36 AM about the 2003 Audi A4 1.8T Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My timing belt had stripped out so I bought a
new one replaced that and the water pump
the guy that I have working on it says that the
valves are not bent and everything looks
smooth but says I still have no compression
in any of the cylinders. do I need to have the
car out of service mode  together before I
have compression? In other words what
having the intake front of the motor still a part
would that affect the motor  not having any
compression? Also just to add it wasn’t a
violet mishap the car was at an idol and just
stalled no Violent or loud about noises so I
do believe the motor is still good.  In the tiny
marks are on with the new timing belt triple
checked Please help  thank you for your time
and knowledge

If the engine is truly confirmed NOT to have been destroyed by the broken timing belt. Go back and correctly install the timing belt at TDC compression stroke..marks.. etc. 1.8 will make compression regardless of intake being attached or not. These VW engines do not tolerate errors.
