Would a bad computer in a 2003 Audi A4 3.0 also cause hard manual shifting?

After multiple episodes of rough engine operation attributed to failed ignition coils, repaired and yet continuing, repair guy pulled codes showing "multiple failures" that he attributed to a bad computer.  While saving up for this, the car now has a seeming clutch problem - hard to put into gear.  No slippage, but occasional clutch burning smell, as if no fluids.  Does the computer control the clutch operation?

Nope .. clutch or pedal adjustment is needed
