Around what rpm does the turbo kick in on an Audi TT Quattro please? The reason I ask is because it seem to wind up in in low revs! Is this something I should be concerned about?

Today's turbo cars should have almost no turbo lag. There is no possible fault I can think of that would cause the turbo to kick in earlier than normal. You are probably hearing the turbine wind up. Once it really gets going you won't be able to hear it as the pitch will be too high.
