how can I sychronize/ code key to start 2001 Audi A4, 1.8T

Car won't start after I replaced car battery. Now I need to code key. Would like to find out whether it can be done by DIY please?

you should not have to code your key . if your audi won't start after the battery has been replaced make sure it has power in the battery first as in full charge. then disconnect the battery for 15 minutes and plug it back on if the key still won't start it try one of your backup keys you should have a total of 3 keys 2 auto unlocks and a base key. i have had my battery off my audi more then once and never had this issue.
