my timing chain was ticking really loud and started to come through the valve
cover i was going to put a new chain tensioner on it today but yesterday when
i was going home i heard a loud noise and the car shut off i pulled over and
the car wouldn't even try to start after i got home the car just did nothing id try
to turn it on and it ticked once and did nothing it sounded like the chain
snapping or maybe even the belt but i don't know much about cars so any
advise would help.

So I took off the valve cover the chain wasn’t broken or the belt but the bottom pad of the chain tensioner broke into pieces. The chain is right on top but lose on the bottom where the tensioner is broken I have everything I need to replace the tensioner I just need the tool that came Roth the tensioner because the boot to tighten the tensioner broke
