2000 Audi A4 1.8t bad oil pump?

Asked by Devin Jan 23, 2017 at 11:42 PM about the 2000 Audi A4 1.8T Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My oil pressure light came on so went to autozone
thinking I was out of oil turn the car off bought oil and
went to turn the car back on. It cranked over but wouldn't
start so I tried it again the lights would just turn on and it
wouldn't crank over anymore. Would a bad oil pump
cause this?

It shouldn't, did you try to jump the car, possible a bad battery and happened as the oil pump went bad !

When the oil pressure light comes on you stop the car right where it is. Moving it further without sufficient oil will damage the engine.
