Timing

Asked by jbrown714 Apr 15, 2017 at 12:20 PM about the 2001 Isuzu Rodeo Sport 2 Dr V6 SUV

Question type: General

Does it matter if the marks on my
timing belt dont line up but the
marks on the cams and the crank
shaft pully do. I went another 12
revalutions on the CSP and had no
interference.  Do you think it will
be a problem when I start the
engine?

What is important is the camshaft gear and crankshaft gear marks are set to where they are suppose to be. The marks on the belt are just for reference to make it easier to put on. Just make sure there in the right spot, very important your not even a tooth off.
