false reading

Asked by London Jul 26, 2018 at 11:58 PM about the 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i recently replaced the jeeps a/c system, now when I drive the car for over 10
minutes the temp gauge states its at 3/4. I've never had any overheating issues
before this. it happened again yesterday and the mechanic who looked at it
said NO WAY it could get that hot that fast.

If your Jeep has electric cooling fans make sure they work. If not then this may be unrelated to the AC repairs.

Also "burp" the system as an air lock could possibly cause a false high reading.
