Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Last night I noticed that when I put it in park, it would still roll backwards even when the emergency break was engaged. Was looking around online trying to find an answer and came across a recall. Took it to get the recall fixed today and the mechanic told me that my axle is about to come out and it is really at a dangerous point to drive. it didn't start making noise till yesterday and then the park wouldn't work. Is it expensive to fix this or should I not waste anymore money and get something else? It has 265,000 miles on it.
