Engine smoking?
Asked by Kassandra Apr 05, 2018 at 05:42 PM about the 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4WD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I just changed the head gasket, valve gasket,
thermostat gasket, air filter, oil, and the exhaust
manifold gasket and now after getting it all
changed the jeep is smoking from the engine and
we can't figure out the source. Any ideas on what
this could be?

Do you mean smoking under the hood, off the engine itself of from the exhaust pipe? Blue smoke is usually oil burning. White smoke is generally coolant. Sounds like you still have a gasket leaking.
It is smoking under the hood and it's white but not very much. We checked for leaks and there was none but the car hasn't been started since the head gasket change and the exhaust manifold change, antifreeze got all over the engine. A couple of the hoses are bad that we are changing today. Just at a loss and could use some insite on stuff I don't know.
