1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee wont start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
One day I was driving down the road and my Jeep
just turned off, I drifted to the shoulder and had to
be towed home. There’s 164,xxx miles on it, new
battery since the break down. It turns over and
cranks but doesn’t start. Any help with ideas before
I bring to a shop? I tried to upload video of when I
turn key but can’t get video to post.

Not sure but my sun in law had a 96 and the first time it happened it was the crank sensor , and about a year a problem almost the same way ended up being the computer . the crank sensor is on the upper left hand side of the bellhousing where it mates to the engine and a little bit of a pain to get to . Did not replace the computer because the computer and having it flashed was more than the car was worth good luck on the crank sensor being the problem.
I’m going to replace the crank sensor. I’m tight on money so was going to grab one from auto zone tomorrow (believe duralast brand) rather than oem. Any input on aftermarket sensors?
