Gauges not working/high idle/ misfire

Asked by Mike Oct 23, 2018 at 11:32 AM about the 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ran fine yesterday.
This morning I started my Jeep and it immediately
died. I started it back up and it stayed running, but
it had problems.
First, the gauges didn’t work. They moved a little
when I first started it, but fell back to nothing.
Check Gauges and ABS lights are on.
The idle is high(around 1200rpm).
It was also misfiring.

The night before, it ran fine. All gauges worked, no
misfire, and normal idle.

Any ideas?

Fixed it... There was water in the pcm due to it not being sealed properly and the weather stripping being out of place. Water dripped into it during rain
