Check engine light on? If not, maybe it's the torque convertor in the transmission locking up at idle caused by a faulty transmission convertor lock solenoid. Usually it will only happen after the car is warmed up after 15 to 20mins and ou can get the car in park and neutral just fine, but as soon as you put it into gear, the car will die.

Possibly a bad idle air unit. Located on the throttle body , easy to replace. Fixed my jeep
