I've got a '99 Jeep GC Ltd with a 4.7 that stalls.

Check your fuel pressure at the injector rail there is a Schrader fitting. Looking for about 60 psi. Also replace the fuel filter which also contains the fuel pressure regulator. I agree that it sounds like a fuel problem but don't forget to verify there's spark.

Many thanks for your reply. Sadly, we checked the fuel line very early on and the pressure remains constant at just a nudge over 60. I'm hoping that replacing the fuel pump we replaced earlier with another unit solves the problem but confidence is not high. It's a real shame because this is a great vehicle. In all other aspects, it looks and feels almost brand new. Again, thanks. We'll keep looking.
