Jeep Grand Cherokee Shakes when you start it

Asked by Lowran Mar 29, 2017 at 04:34 PM about the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My jeep has not been starting up good lately. We've
had it in the family since it was brand new and
haven't had hardly any problems except within the
past year or 2. When you go to start it, the whole
car just shakes. It normally only does it when you
have the air running when you start it. We think it
may be like an idling sensor but we really don't
know. It does have high mileage

It is not recommended to start a car with the A/C on. Many ignore this. For the shaking problem you must take out the intake, clean it, clean the throttle body, clean the idle air control valve (or change it if it's not working properly), put a new air filter.
