Jeep door

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

There is something wrong with my driver door and I can't seem to figure it out. About a month ago while I was waiting for my fiancé I opened my driver door while the truck was still running. When I closed it again I noticed the overhead display was showing that my driver door was still open. I opened the door again and shut it hard to see if that would work. When it did not I shut the Jeep off and turned it back on and it was still showing that my door was opened only now I cannot roll up or down my windows. We have tried everything we can think of to fix the issue but nothing is working. Any advise or a solution would be greatly appreciated.

That model of Jeep was known for the wiring harness at the door hinge to break from flexing and make thing not work until you fix it. Often it is one wire common to the many functions it controls. I never had to fix one but it's probably not real difficult being easy to get at.
